CONTAGION
By Veronica Marie Lewis-Shaw

“I know I’ve not exactly been a saint, but I’m too young to die.”
“Denial… so predictable. Trust me, Kenneth… this is happening and….”
“Really? The great deceiver… I’m supposed to trust you? Please!”
“There appears to be some confusion. I’m not Satan…”
“Yes…. I know. You’re Death and we’re on your barge, crossing the River Styx.”
“Kenneth, do you remember…?”
“I’m really not in the mood for a quiz.”
“May I please finish a sentence? That’s very rude.”
“Oh… somebody’s touchy! Miss your quota, Reaper-man?”
“You fuck enough corpses, Kenneth… did you not you think you might ‘catch’ something?”

About VeronicaThePajamaThief
Bio: Veronica Marie Lewis-Shaw
Born in Lisboa, Portugal to parents of Portuguese/Russian descent, Veronica Marie and her partner of six and a half years, Christina Anne, celebrated their second wedding anniversary in October 2012. The couple are “still very much on honeymoon!”
Part time teacher/barista/student, Veronica’s long fascination with noir fiction prompted her to try her own hand at writing fiction – “the last two years have been a roller coaster!”, where she honed her ‘writing chops’ on an unsuspecting public over at Flash Fiction Friday and Phil Ambler's (formerly Lily Childs’) Friday Prediction.
Veronica has been published in Pulp Metal Magazine, The Lost Children: A Charity Anthology, the horror anthology 100 Horrors, from Cruentus Libri Press, and the inaugural issue of Literary Orphans magazine. She also appears in Katherine Tomlinson's anthology, NIGHTFALLS: Notes from the end of the world, Paul D. Brazill’s DRUNK ON THE MOON 2: A Roman Dalton Anthology and Near To The Knuckle's debut anthology - Gloves Off.
Veronica counts among her mentors - Carole A Parker, Lily Childs, Paul D Brazill, Richard Godwin and Joyce Juzwik. She is currently ‘polishing’ her first novel – a memoir – and working on the second draft of a second novel, as well as publishing a collection of her flash fiction and short stories.

Interesting piece and clever ways of using the words
Thank you, sweetie. I almost didn’t have an entry for this week… I stared at those three words until I made dizzy… nothing was coming to me. Then, almost last minute… ‘dialogue’ popped in my head. That’s what the words were calling out for … dialogue!
Thanks for stopping by and reading my little piece.
Anytime, I look forward to reading more from you in the future!
An enjoyable and funny piece of flash fiction!
Thank you, Cheryl! Once an idea finally caught for the words we were given, I did have fun writing this one!
Thank you for visiting my writing blog.
